Brilliance and Excellence at the Musicrit 2025 Awards Gala, hosted by the Romanian Athenaeum
On this memorable evening of January 14, 2025, starting at 19:00, the Romanian Athenaeum becomes the epicenter of cultural distinction, hosting the long-awaited Musicrit Awards Gala. The event, a large-scale celebration of excellence in classical music, is organized under the aegis of the Romanian Union of Music Critics, Editors and Producers (UCRRM), in partnership with the George Enescu Philharmonic, the National Art Centre “Tinerimea Română” and Artexim.
This prestigious gala rewards outstanding achievements in all areas of classical music, including artistic, journalistic and cultural management performances. The Musicrit 2024 Awards will honor excellence in various categories: Music Criticism, Management, Discography, Music Projects, Best Opera Season in the Country, Best Symphonic Season in the Country, Festival of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year, Lyric Artist of the Year and Revelation of the Year. There will also be five awards of excellence and the “Grigore Constantinescu” distinction, a special award in memory of the founder of the UCRRM, together with the coveted Musicrit Trophy.
The Gala will be ennobled by exceptional musical moments offered by internationally renowned artists and elite ensembles. The audience will have the privilege to listen to masterful performances by sopranos Anita Hartig and Egyed Apollonia, baritones Ionuț Pascu and Mihai Damian, violinist Maria Marica, organist Steffen Schlandt, RCO String Quartett, Flaut Power Ensemble under the direction of Ion Bogdan Ștefănescu, and the Romanian Youth Orchestra, conducted by the legendary Cristian Mandeal.
The evening’s musical program promises to be a sonic treat, including masterpieces by such illustrious composers as George Enescu, Mihail Andricu, Georg Friedrich Händel, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Giacomo Puccini.
The event will be presented by Luminița Arvunescu, President of the UCRRM, together with the distinguished journalist Marius Constantinescu from TVR, ensuring an evening of high class and artistic emotion.
This gala is not only a celebration of past achievements, but also a beacon of inspiration for the future of classical music in Romania.
